Abstract
|
|
|
From 1982 to 1994, the author has conducted a clinical study of a treatment method for pubic atrichosis or hypotrichosis in the cases of 22 patients.
The method composed of the individual hair transplantation from the parietotemporal area of scalp and application of testosterone onitment(for average 6 months) either postoperatively for the groups of patients(Group I ; general atrichosis, Group
II ;
hypotrchosis at labial area but atrichosis at mons pubis) or oinment alone for the Group III (hypotricosi at mons pubis).
The advantage of individual hair transplantation is to make the appearance of pubic hairs according to the patient's status.
The complications, though tolerable, of this treatment method were itching after the application of testosterone ointment ane the formation of abscess which may be caused by the inclusion cyst from the embedded epidermis of scalp at the time of
hair
transplantation.
Patients were followed from 3 months to 10 year(average 2.4 years) and every case had showed constantly satisfactory results.
The authors hope many surgeons to use this treatment modlity for pubic atrichosis or hypotrichosis.
